A second image post try [Jun. 10th, 2008|02:49 pm]
OK, in what is clearly a Mac vs. PC smackdown, I can see my early post, but no one else can. One more try.

Will the owner of the 727... [Jun. 10th, 2008|02:45 pm]
Now we all have forgotten where we parked our car, but apparently someone forgot their (large) plane in Vietnam. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7446469.stm

You have five minutes to move your plane...

Your plane has been crushed into a cube...

Banner endorsements for the GOP [Jun. 9th, 2008|11:20 am]
I had some free time this morning, so I completed these ads for McCain. Feel free to spread them around, just source them.

Higher quality versions are available upon request.

(Hopefully you can see it now.)

Another example of blind fanaticism [Feb. 15th, 2008|02:21 pm]
The Anglican Mainstream is the C of E equivalent of the Prayer Book Society, the Episcopal Synod, and the Gays-and-Girls-Are-Yucky Coalition that we Episcopalians must endure. A group so angry gays and lesbians are insufficiently ashamed of themselves that they (the Anglican Mainstream, not the gays and lesbians) can't see straight (pun not completely intended). Apparently being blinded by rage meant they couldn't check their own cover art.

OK the painting is really of the Prodigal Son, but really people!

24, the 1994 edition [Dec. 3rd, 2007|02:26 pm]
Pam at Pandagon posted this You Tubey spoof of the 24 pilot set back in the dim, dark ages of 1994. See Jack Bauer using a pager and payphone, while receiving key information via dial-up, AOL chatrooms, and bike messenger. And how can the terrorists have ruined the CTU's (note to self: that is not the Chicago Teachers' Union) computer system when they have WINDOWS 3.1???!!!!!
Laugh riot.

And in the where are they now category... [Nov. 29th, 2007|06:58 pm]
The new Australian prime minister has selected Peter Garrett formerly of Midnight Oil to be the next Australian Environment Minister. Here is the BBC link http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7118265.stm .
OK maybe it will start a trend. Bono for Ireland's (or maybe the EU) Minister with responsibility for debt relief, Bruce Springsteen as Labor Secretary, Willie Nelson as Agriculture Secretary...They can't do any worse than the idiots currently in government.

I hate news irony before coffee... [Jun. 20th, 2007|10:19 am]
As I was in the shower this morning, I heard that Congress had passed a stem-cell funding bill (not a huge deal, one got passed during the GOP reign of terror). And naturally, W will be vetoing it, the 3rd veto of his presidency.
What annoyed beyond measure was the president, or one of his on-background flunkies, stated that it would be wrong, wrong, wrong to force tax payers to pay for the destruction of human life! Unless of course it's Muslim life or something I guess.
That's just great. Parkinsonian patients, Alzheimer patients, etc., etc., can just suffer because blastocytes that are going to be flushed anyway can't be used in federally funded research. Perhaps someone should explain to George that there is every possibility that embryos are among the dead when we shell or bomb somewhere in Iraq and Afghanistan. I suppose that falls under the Muslim life exception that seems to be implied.
Here's the story in all its nauseating repetition. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=11207876 It turns out that someone is trying to weasel out of the "forcing taxpayers to fund the destruction of human life" statement I heard earlier, but saying it's wrong to for funding for the destruction of "human embryos". It makes the contradiction less obvious, but as I pointed out, it's not like we have embryo-avoiding bombs and bullets.

Deviants infest Rogers Park and Palmer House!!!! [Jun. 1st, 2007|01:47 pm]
Apparently the International Men of Leather conference is in town. And where the Leathermen are, their revolting, deviant handers-on, the puritanical scolds are sure to follow. Check out the entire sorid story here http://pandagon.net/2007/06/01/the-peter-at-iml/ .
All I can say is, keep Peter out of Rogers Park. Nosey scolds out!

Just because... [May. 24th, 2007|12:51 pm]

Your Score: Mr. Bennet

You scored 50 Idealism, 45 Nonconformity, 58 Nerdiness

Are you on the list?

Congratulations, you're Mr. Bennet! You are one mysterious person with mysterious motives. Despite all the mystery, it's clear that you believe what you do is for the greater good, and you are obviously a well-educated person in your field.

Your best quality: Dedication to your work/organization/etc.
Your worst quality: Keeping too many secrets

I feel kinda cheated on this. Bennet turned out to be a good guy, possibly he'll be the head of the Heroes' Justice League Avengers or whatever. But no powers! That sucks.
